Description:As a study of teenage angst, the play covers familiar ground, and the problems of female sexual ambivalence have been well charted by writers like Carson McCullers. The wilting after a punishingly long drought—and the carefully conserved energy required to outlast it—was palpable in Emily Anderson's achievement as Gin, the fading wife and mother who still has some fight left in her. We just decided that we had to try it. The cast's achievement—after eight rehearsals and a tech-in—leaves us wondering what this show could have achieved with a full production cycle.
