Description:If a man did the same to his wife it would be abuse. I work for a large health care organization associated with a prestigious medical school. Our organization recently came out with a statement and campaign that said no form of spanking or physical "discipline" is ok. They cited numerous studies showing it to be ineffective as a disciplinary tool and harmful to a child's development. The excuse "I was spanked and turned out ok" is crap too. No one had car seats a few decades ago but people lived through that too, does that mean we should ignore the research and advice that says to use a car seat?
